Below is a bit more information about our swim lesson philosophy and program.

MAC Premier Fitness award winning swim lesson program promotes water safety, encourages students to enjoy learning and mastering the swim skills needed to keep them safe and secure within the water. Our program teaches skills such as freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke and much more! Floating is our number one life saving skill that your student will learn and master to ensure their safety. MAC swim lessons are typically 1 time per week for week on a monthly basis. Members and non members are welcome to register for private lessons that are one on one with one of our qualified swim instructors. 15-minute lessons $28.50/lesson 
30-minute lessons $55.00/lesson

In our Tadpoles class, swimmers ages 3 months to 3 years will learn to blow bubbles underwater, introduction to “scoops” for freestlye, climbing in and out of the water safely, how to turn from front to back and back to front, introduction to floating independently

Swimmers in the Tadpole class will work on swim skills through nursery rhymes/songs, toys and assisted motions for strokes.

    • Front and back with and without support
    • Enter water safely using the ladder, steps or side
    • Exit water safely using the ladder, steps or side
    • Submerge mouth, nose and eyes
    • Exhale underwater (blow bubbles) through mouth and nose, 3 seconds
    • Front and back float (with support)
    • Roll over from front to back (with and without support)
    • Roll over from back to front (with and without support)
    • Explore arm and hand movements (with support)
    • Simultaneous leg action on front & back (with support)
    • Alternating leg action on front & back (with support)
    • Combined stroke on front & back using any type of arm and leg action (with support)

-In the Blue frogs class swimmers ages 3yrs to adult will learn underwater swimming/submersion, introduction to freestyle, backstroke and elementary backstroke, climbing in and out of the water safetly, turning fron front to back and back to front, floating, treading water for up to 30 seconds and sit and kneel diving.

-Swimmers at this level will work on skills assisted and unassisted utilizing the pool up to 4 ½ feet until comfortable with unassisted skills.

    • Front and back with and without support

In purple frogs level swimmers ages 3 years to adult will continue to gain confidence within the water while swimming freestyle,  backstroke and elementary backstroke independently 2 lengths each stroke, at this level our swimmers will be introduced to side breathing, sidestroke, breaststroke and the butterfly. Each swimmer will continue to perfect their skills for each stroke as well as tread water up to 1 mintue and sit and kneel dives.

    • Jump into deep water from the side
    • Head first entry from the side in a sitting or kneeling position
    • Submerge and retrieve an object
    • Front glide-kick two, 2 body lengths
    • Survival float, 30 seconds
    • Back glide-kick one, 2-body lengths
    • Back float 30 seconds
    • Change from vertical to horizontal position on front, in deep water
    • Tread water, 30 seconds, in deep water
    • Front crawl, 15 yards
    • Butterfly-kick and body motion, 15 yards
    • Back crawl, 15 yards
    • Intro to sidebreathing
    • Intro to sidestroke
    • Intro to breaststroke
    • Intro to butterfly
    • Sit and kneel dives
    • Intro to standing dives
    • Tread water up to 1 minute
    • Go from vertical position (treading) to horizontal (floating on back) in deep water

In Strawberry frogs class swimmers ages 3 years to adult will continue to gain the confidence needed within the water. Swimmers will be introduced to flipturns and be able to swim 2 lengths of freestyle, backstroke, elementary backstroke, sidestroke, breaststroke, and butterfly independently. Swimmers will continue to work on the correct timing for breast stroke as well as the butterfly. Diving skills will go from sit and kneel to standing and having a feet first entry.

    • Dive from side in a compact or stride position
    • Swim underwater, 3 body lengths
    • Perform a feet-first surface dive and submerge completely
    • Survival float, 1 minute in deep water
    • Open turn on front and push off in streamlined position
    • Open turn on back and push off in streamlined position
    • Tread water using modified scissors, breaststroke or rotary kick and sculling arm motions, 1 minute
    • Front crawl, 20 yards
    • Breaststroke, 15 yards
    • Butterfly, 15 yards
    • Elementary backstroke, 15 yards
    • Swim on side with scissors kick, 15 yards

    • Flip turns
    • Individual Medley (300 and above)
    • Diving compact and stride position
    • Perform a feet first surface dive with complete submersion.
    • Intro to ½ mile swim

The American Bullfrogs Swim team is a recreational swim team created to challenge swimmers to work on improvement of their skills in a competitive environment. Students must be invited to join swim team and approve those who want to join.
